Default how long do rear drums last??

how many miles are you all getting from your rear drum brakes before having to replace them?

general rule of thumb, every 3 sets of front brakes you go through, replace the rears. however dont live by this guideline. check the thickness to make sure it's within spec or on riveted shoes, replace them once the rivets grind into the drum. the drum pratically has the same service length as a rotor. can be cut to a certain point where it needs to ve replaced. however a drum must be replaced if it shows abnormal wear or is damaged (cracks, out of round, etc)
