Default 9 or 10 inch brake drums

I am going to replace my rear brake drums on my 97 Dakota. Can I go to 10 inch if it has 9 inch now?

Thanks

if it will clear the rim, i don't see why not... unless there is a difference in terms of abs/non-abs or something like htat

i wouldnt do it, i got a feeling you may run into a problem mounting 10 inch shoes on a 9 in drum brake assembly. you wont have problems with the drums but the shoes have me concerned. if youre doing this just for stopping power, youre wasting your time. get a dakota axle with rear drum brakes and do a swap. youre gonna have to change your proportioning valve i believe and your master cylinder. do your reasearch before you jump off the bridge
