I'm going to take some serious exception to that.... based on what he's listing his car at, he's got a 6.0 LS2 under his hood...

And the LS motors by GM are some of the absolute BEST in the biz...at least for cars... So while bash GM all ya like, they at least know how to build one damn good engine..

How? They have been using the same old technology and engines forever. Yeah they make decent power but its a 6.0L it should. Fords new 5.0 will make the same power with a liter less.

Call me when Ford figures out how to put out a performance vehicle without a blower. Ford is still playing catchup when it comes to performance, so let's not bring them into the equation.

And the LS motors not in the Corvette are actually detuned and setup to produce less power. His G8 GT is putting out 362hp, but that same motor in a factory build put out 412hp. So while they produce more HP with a liter less, your not comparing apples to apples

The LS series lowest power output is 303hp...in a FWD configuration....outside of that, it's 345hp in a RWD application.

I may have been called a troll by a few people here, but I have certainly not trolled. I have not shown or said to dislike Chrysler. I said that MY truck is a piece of crap. Not once did I make a comment about anyone ELSE'S truck. I put down one OLD engine, just like I put down old GM engines in a different thread on this board, and everyone jumps on my ***? Stop being so freakin defensive. I like almost all car brands, not just GM. But the engine in my car is very solid, and there's absolutely no reason to bash it.

A truck wasn't meant to be fast? There's a limit as to how slow any vehicle should be, IMO. I happen to be of the mind that power can ADD safety if the driver isn't an idiot. Why? Because you can merge onto a busy highway without taking ages to get up to speed. Because you can hit the gas pedal and get through an intersection quickly to avoid that guy that's running the red light in the other direction and coming right for you. And, hey, it's fun. Why should I have to be bored while driving my truck? Obviously it's not a Corvette, but come on.

Different trucks were meant for different reasons. F350's and 3500 Rams were not meant to be fast but to pull. Rangers and S10's were meant for grandpa to drive to the dump with 2 bags of garbage. Lightnings, R/t's, 454ss's were meant to be fast.

And I still want pics of that g8. I know i bashed you but I do like the g8's.

?? are you kidding? so nissan making 4-500 hp with 3L and 3.5L engines is even better? Oh, and that crazy honda motor on the s2000, 240 hp out of 2L, EVEN BETTER!

To me, Dodge makes the best truck motors out, including the damn near bulletproof gas chuggin heavy haulin 5.9 (which I think is an excellent project btw). but GM has them wipped when it comes to car motors, and especially the LS motors. took a motor making 300 hp, got 350 out of it, then got 400 out of it. same block gets 500, and that same block blown gets 650. I dunno, that same old technology seems to have come quite a way. If you sat down with a corvette engineer and talked about the technology going into those motors you'd be amazed, I certainly was.

If I took pictures of my car, they'd have to be tiny or I'd show off how much I need to wash it, lol. It's probably dirtier than some of you that go offroading.

BTW, the L76 in my car has a really baby cam and really mild tuning. Even the original LS1 back in 98ish could make ~400hp with a cam swap. They may be OHV engines, but they're way better than the old SBC. I don't like the SBC either because it's so old and inefficient.
