Fan Motor Resistor
2002 Dodge Dakota Quad 4x4
Though I would share , I think I got it fixed. However, I went through 3 resistor blocks. Is this normal?
First resistor block I got from a Dodge dealership, second resistor block from a parts store and the last resistor block from a Dodge dealership. I now have all speeds from the control ****.
The first resistor block I got from the Dodge dealeship work great the first 2 weeks then started to go bad. It started to lose control of the fan speeds, and at the end only had a very low speed from the blower motor. When I pulled out the resistor block it had burnt marks on pin 1.
The second resistor block I got from a parts store would blow on low & med but not high, right when I first installed it. I figured the resistor block was bad from start.
The last resistor block I got from a Dodge dealership. The control **** works on all three settings.
Since the first resistor block showed signs of getting hot on pin 1. I clean out the female (Car side) plug with electrical plug cleaner I put some dielectric (sp) greese on the male pins of the resistor block before I installed it.
Everything seems to work like it suppose to, I now have low, med and high from the control ****.
Do you guy's think I got it fixed? Should I look at anything else?
Thanks in advance
