Default Ball Joints on an 02 Quad Cab

One Garage just quoted me $1000 to change the upper and lower DR Side Ball Joints.

Is this ridiculous?

its not ridiculous, its outrageous and unacceptable. you can get the upper and lower ball joints for less than 90 dollars each at napa. id say do it yourself. rent a ball joint press and spend a couple hours on it. or get a quote fromw somewhere else.

For one side!!!???? $1000??? Wow thats bad, real bad. They are $75 a piece at Napa and you don't even need a press. The tops are cake if you know how to turn a wrench, and the bottums will take a Saturday, but do able. Heat them up and pound those suckers out. Put the new ones in a freezer (makes them shrink a little and makes them easier to put in, thanks for fox for that bit). Im about to do my lowers already did the uppers. If you have any sort of mechanical ability you can do them yourself. Or atleast the uppers. And if you really can't do the lowers have a decent shop do it. Shouldn't cost more than $200 for them to do one side lower ball joints.
