Default Problem with radio not working

I drive an '01 Dakota, the problem I am having is that the radio is not working. The radio is a stock radio.

The probelm began with the radio freezing, not playing any sound, not changing stations, and when I turned off the vehicle the frozen screen that just displayed the time stayed active and did not turn off with the vehicle. I checked the fuse, and it was fine, I then disconnected the battery to cut power to the car. The radio turned off, but now when I turn on the vehicle again the radio does not work at all. Only the bass and treble ***** little lights blink continuously.

Does anyone have any idea of how to help me. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

There usually are 2 fuses for the radio. But also remember you are dealing with 8 year old technology. Would you use a 8 year computer?

If it were me Id say heck with it and get a aftermarket radio. I got one from crutchfield.com the price was good and it even came with the installation kit which is match each wire color to the one just like it splice it and get a wire connector and your done. Took me 20mins to do and I was taking my time. This is what mine looks like http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158GT63...I.html?tp=5684 I love it works awesome and I can plug my ipod into it or usb flash drive

The radio itself most likely has an internal problem. A good car audio shop can bench test and repair it for you, but it could wind up costing more than it is worth to fix it. You can get a really good deal on a good quality aftermarket unit nowadays, like dodgeramguy says. Best Buy will often run free installation deals if you don't want to install it yourself, and any good car audio shop should be able to install it for you. You might find another radio on ebay or craig's list but you get what you pay for there.

where are the two fuses for the radio on my 1999 Dodge Ram? Don't really have $130 to purchase new one with shortage of work.
Can't find my manual

I know that one of the fuse banks is on left of dash board to be accessed when driver door is open, but not sure where the second one is.

Check the stickys for the factory service manual. Check in there for a fuse diagram.
