distributor help

Default distributor help

i have a 97 dakota that im puttin a 5.2 into right now. its all pretty much bolted up right now. but on the distributor there is a wire that comes off of it and i dont know what it plugs into. almost looks like a sensor plug or something. help quick please

Sounds like the connector for the camshaft position sensor. (CPS. It should have 3 wires. If you take the distributor cap off, it's basically like a thin disc)
It's going to plug into the wiring harness (which makes its way back to the computer)

The computer will not allow the engine to run without getting input from this sensor.

ya thats the cam position sensor. That has to be plugged in.

i cant figure out where to plug it in at? i cant find a spot in the harness

maybe connector got cut off for some reason?
