Tire wear. I am only looking to get another inch or so more ride height in the front because I will be plowing this winter. However, I'm not gonna do it at the expense of wearing out the tires in 10K miles.

Does increasing the front end's ride height by cranking up the torsion bars a few turns screw up the alignment of the front tires or not?

yes cranking the bars is going to screw up your alignment, but I agree there shouldn't be any problem having it aligned. We tend to forget that torsion bars are there to adjust ride height in the first place... granted, some of us take that idea way too far, but the fact remains, that's what they're there for. That's why everyone's truck will have a different adjustment on the t bars from the factory, because the factory uses them to level the truck before it hits the lot. Take whatever advice you like, I think we can all agree the best way to find out if something works is to try it!

Yes, cranking the bars screws up the alignment, but any alignment shop will be able to correct it. Like I said, I have mine as high as they are physically capable of going and it was still realigned (took the poor guy 2 1/2 hours to get it in the green though :P).

Alignment is not the issue. The issue is when you crank the bars tighter, it puts a higher preload on the bars. Then, when you add a load to that (when the front end flexxes), its putting an even greater torsional force on the bar. It is possible (although not likely) to snap the bar if you add to great a load to that high preload. But going up 1 inch will never cause you a problem. Also, by tightening the bars, you're raising their spring constant, so expect a slightly harsher ride.
