i just bought a 99 dakota auto trans 3.9. when you take off in first it studders almost like a small set of jerks but when you ease very lightly in the throttle it does fine in first. also after you go in reverse for more than 20 feet it looses power almost to a stop. can anyone help me . the guy that sold it to me said hes taken it twice to see about the first gear thing and they said it wasnt the trans, but i dont know. he never said anything about the reverse he probably never had to back up as far as i do because it does fine in a parking lot or short distances.
