Default Black Taillights?

so i'm thinking about dressing up the back of my truck a bit, i want to either get a pair of black stock taillights or somehow be able to "paint" my existing ones black. im getting my truck inspected on thurs so ill ask them if it is still legal in my state to have them that way, we r a commonwealth everything is illegal lol.

by the way i really like the way the stock lights look and i wanna just have the red section of the taillight the black section, i believe i've seen a couple of people on the forum with these style of lights.

Any help will be appreciated.

The ones I have are stock style, but clear smoked. I have to use red LED bulbs, but its looks prety good I think. You can find them on Ebay sometimes.

I did mine with vht's tail light tint it comes in a can and you spray it on the more coats you do the darker it is. I got mine at advanced auto for 9.00 I did mine and still had half left over. All you have to do is make sure your lights are clean then tape off your reverse lights and your ready to paint.

Oh thats another thing to add to my list. Thats fantastic, now I dont need to get a set on ebay. Wonder if this would work on headlights? Just a light tint to darken them up a tad

i dont see why not but if you spray the outside little rocks and bugs are going to chip it off and its gonna look like crap.

I guess nobody was fond of my idea haha....Its too bad they don't make headlights to match my tails. I'm just not too sure how those black headlights like they have on Ebay would look on a white truck. Not to mention fitment issues. I wish I could come across some of those old school APC ones with the straight amber reflector on the side.

When I did the lights on my Celica, they turned purple, instantly...

This stuff, from what I've noticed, is designed to go over red lights...

I was told its 100% illegal to put on your headlights no matter how much you put on. My friend just used up the rest of my can and did his tails and running lights on his 00 chevy sliverado but the tint cracked not sure why it did this but it didnt crack on mine.
