I couldn't find much info, but my friend had a pair of silverstar 9004? i think. Not sure if thats right. But they fit so I hooked them up to my 99 dak. It started smoking and smelled like burning. Im assuming these bulbs dont work with my truck, but why not? And which ones should I get?

 

Sounds like someone touched the glass on the bulbs at some point - otherwise, I've never seen light bulbs smoke like that.

I'd go with standard Sylvania lamps, but that's just me.
