Default Turn signal woes

Guess I'll start off by saying hello. Just bought a '98 Dakota (v6 club cab) yesterday, and already getting frustrated. With the headlights off, left turn signal seems to work correctly based on the indicator lights inside, but from the outside...the right blinkers also light up with the left, just not as brightly. With the headlights on, the turn signal just stays lit, does not flash. Google tells me that it could be a bulb issue, but I've pulled all the bulbs one at a time with no change. The other option appears to be a ground issue, but I don't even know where to look. Any tips?

Nevermind, I found the problem. Previous owner must've hacked away at the wires for the towing connectors, cut off some nasty looking bits at the end and problem went away.

Glad you got it. Some people don't know how to do wire repair correctly to prevent future problems.
