i noticed the yesterday a sound comming from the driver side in the engine bay. best way to describe it was as if some one had a ball pump and was pushing air through it with nothing attached. anyway i noticed some surging and loss of power. i attached a picture of the hose, its busted right underneath the fuse box. question is whats this hose do?

 

To me it looks like it is a vacuum hose. That explains the power loss and sound. Just take it off and go to autozone or any parts store and get one the same size. Probably cost you $1 or $2.
