Someone Help, PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP!!!!
I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota SLT with a 4.7L V-8. I have had the emisson light on for a few years now. The code is P0499 and i have read some of the fourms and tried without any luck. i have the full shop manual (alldatadiy.com) and i've have gone through some of the steps. I have checked all the hoses and replaced the purge canister solenoid (natural Vent Leak Detection Assembly). But one thing i dont understand is on the website one step is to measure the resistance of the NVLD Solenoid Coil and its suspose to be between 7.5 and 8.5Ohms but mine reads 14.6Ohms or so and 0 volts at the plug.... And i really dont know whatelse to do or what to look for. This is a really big problem to me b/c ive been tryn to fix this for years now and i really dnt wana spend $400 or $500 to take it somewhere. So can someone please help me and kinda walk me through on what to do...

You should always post what the code is for. According to the list of codes we got in the stickys in this section there is no code P0499. Are you sure that is your code? On the NVLD Solenoid you said the Ohms is off. Did you replace it?
I have a 2004 CC and had the same problem but after some time on the net I found a solution that may work for you.
There is a cannon plug that is located in the front drivers wheel well that is torward the firewall side. Mine was just hanging there and it looked loose. I cut out the plug and then spliced the wires back together and VIOLA! It was fixed and have not had the P0499 code return and it has been 3 months.
I have a 2wd with the stock wheels and tire size. I was suprised that it was the cannon plug. Hope this helps.
