Default Caught them in a lie!

In another post, I had mentioned that I was having trouble with my overdrive not working. Well, it turned out to be a bad overdrive solenoid that is in the transmission. I had removed the pan and changed the filter just two days prior to discovering the solenoid was the problem. After I bought the new solenoid, I again removed the pan to install the new part. After looking at it, I decided to take it to a local tranny shop and have them install it for $60 that they quoted me. I put the pan back on and drove it straight to the shop and left it. Well to my amazement, they called and told me that I needed a complete rebuild because when they removed the pan that the pan and the magnet was "just full of metal!"
I said, "Oh really? That's really strange because it was clean when I had the pan off twice this week!". Well the guy then started back pedaling saying that he is just telling me what the mechanic said. To make a long story short, I told them to just install the part that I had provided. They did, and my transmission is working just fine.

LOL! Unfortunately some of them are dishonest. Just make sure you don't go there again. And most places like google has online reviews of local businesses. Do a quick write up to prevent others getting scammed.

tell everyone you know and tell them to tell everyone they know. I changed the diff fluid in my mom's explorer for her because I told her I could do it for alot cheaper than a shop or something and it needed to be done. Well like 2 weeks later she took it to the penzoil 30 minute oil change place to get the oil changed and they told her that the rear diff fluid was extremely dirty and needed to be changed. She declined and told me about it when she got home. Right away I drove the car back down there and told them to check the diff fluid and I watched them. The guy said "yea it looks pretty good" and then I asked him why he told my mom it was dirty and needed to be changed. All he did was turn around and walk into their little office. I followed him in there and told him I changed it 2 weeks ago and I dont appreciate dishonest people. Then I went through everyone waiting in line for an oil change and told them the story. I think like 5 out of 6 people turned around.

Lol wink good work. I really don't like the 30min oil change places, not even a little. They are only after money and don't even pretend a little bit to give a ****!
