Ok, let me get this straight. I have an '00 with the 4.7 4x4 SLT with 238,xxx miles on it. I don't need a anything but I thought that I would have one on standby just in case. There is going to be a rebuilt 4.7 HO sitting for this truck the same way (along with a controller when I get around to buying it).

I found a tranny from an '04 Durango 4.7 4x4 that has 34k on it.

This tranny will swap and hook up with no problems, correct? Other than it won't work the 5-speed auto, it should be the same (it will have 545RFE on the tag.

 

Not sure I understand the question... I think all 4.7's and 5.7's have the 545 behind them (excpt the 4.7 + 5 speed manual of course)

 

Mine has a 45RFE in it as the stock transmission. I just wanted make sure that there wasn't some generational changes that would not allow the 545RFE to mate up (bolts and electrically).

 

the trans from a 4.7 from years 2000 to 2006 are all the same...its the computer that makes it a 4 and 5 speed...(idk how) but it was described on a hemi swap thread on another thread

i recently bought a trand out of an 05 dakota with 11k on it and im having it done over with a shift kit and synthetic fluids for stand by

 

the 545 5 speed is the same as a 545 4 speed. But the computer locks up 2nd and 4th gears at the same time for 5th IIRC.
