Default Help Please?

I have a 2001 SLT 4x4 4.7L V8. My heat and air only work on high.(kinda like me. hahaha) Anyway, I asked a mechanic friend of mine what it could be and he said it was the blower motor resistor and that it was easy to replace. Only problem is he doesn't know where exactly it is located on my truck. I checked my haynes book and it has everything to do with heat and air but the location of this resistor. Anybody out there know where it is located. Any suggestions would be of great help.

Thanx in advance for your help.

It's under the passenger's side of the dash, down on the bottom side of the HVAC housing under the dash section where the glove box is located. There are 2 5/16" screws holding it in place and it has a rectangular wire connector on it with about 6 or 8 wires. It helps to remove the floor air duct tube to the left of the resistor to get at it and remove it easier. Use the direct replacement part from the Dodge dealer, Dodge recently did a redesign on the resistor pack using much better quality and more reliable heavy duty parts. You will see when you compare the old resistor pack to the new one. The resistor packs you can get at Napa and other parts stores are NOS and not as good of a part. Dealer part should cost less than $20.00.

Took me all of 20 minutes Saturday morning thanks to you 01SilverCC. Everything was right were you said and removing the floor duct made it that much simpler. The hardest part was putting that duct back in. Had trouble with the back screw pinned between the duct and the slope of the floor.

Thanx again for all your help.
