Question Transmission clicking?

HOWDY! this is my first post, so bare with me.

So i have a 2000 dodge dakota 3.9L V6 2WD, and when its at running temp, sitting in park theres a clicking noise. i assume its transmission because its fairly regular, like, it doesnt click in random time intervals. when in any other gear (still just sitting) it doesn't click.

what could this be? and how bad could it be?

If you increase engine speed, does the clicking speed up?

I'm almost going to bet something is rubbing the flywheel, or it's lifter tick.

So it ticks in park but as soon as you put it in gear it goes away? Even though you're still sitting? Just trying to be clear.

Default Clicking in Transmission

Hello I am having the same problem and was wondering if you have found out anything yet, I had gotten a transmission and torque convertor from a salvage thats susposed to be good but not sure which is bad, so I was wondering if you have had any luck on yours yet. My email is Benny.Aldridge@yahoo,com thanks for any help.
