Default ABS Light question...

First of all, thanks to everyone on here and the large number of Dakota drivers out there, Ive never yet had to actually post a question, until now. This site has been a wonderful resource! So here goes..

'99 Dakota V6 2wheel drive rear ABS only. Ive had the rear ABS sensor go out before and I replaced it about 60000k ago, and everything has been fine since. Lately, the ABS and BRAKE light annunciators have been coming on after a few miles of driving. I replaced the sensor in the top of the pumpkin again, but this time it made no difference. Didn't fix it.

I haven't had a lot of experience with ABS systems, and I'm not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?

Is your speedo and odometer still working?

Do your brakes feel "spongy" at all? You could try tightening up the rear drums if they are loose, cause if they get too lose it will turn those lights on.

Also, if the resevior is too low on fluid it will turn those lights on.

Default Yes

Last time I had issues with this, the speedo became intermittent. This time the speedo is unaffected. This is why I think it is something OTHER than the sensor this time.

get your truck scanned to find out what caused the ABS light to come on.
