DRB Scan Tool needed for 45RFE Fluid change?
I want to change the filter and fluid in the trans on my '01 Quad Cab with the 4.7L. The factory service manual states that I need the DRB tool to get the trans fluid temperature. Unfortunately, I think that is a dealer only tool, what do all of you do when it comes to changing the trans fluid?

If you need to change your oil, I would just change it and be done with. I can't imagine why would you need to check the oil temp unless you are doing it hot....and that wouldn't be very wise anyway
