Default shock options for 01 rwd 4cyl -recommendations?

So before I go replacing ball joints and bushings to quiet down the front end, I figure I might as well replace the shocks and start with the obvious.

I'm looking at either bilsteins (very happy with them in the vw arena)
Or kyb gr2 or gas-adjusts...

Anyone have any reviews or recommendations? This is a street truck, daily driven, no lift, though I wouldn't mind something a little more heavy duty than stock... Thanks in advance!!!

bilsteins will work good for you, they should also last quite some time

sweet, thanks!
Do I need a spring compressor to do the job?

Ive done plenty of shocks on FWD cars, but never on a dodge truck.
Any help would be appreciated.

nope, unbolt the top, unbolt the bottom and it should come out the bottom of the control arm
