Default 2001 dodge dakota qaud cab 4.7 ignition switch

i have a 2001 dodge dakota and i was woundering if anyone else had this problem or if you knew if my ignition switch is bad when the truck is running if i just barely touch the key my radio and accessories shut off but the truck stays running

I would say it is the switch. You may want to post this in the 2nd Generation Dakota sub-forum. I will move it there for you.

i have the 01 QC with the 3.9 and i get the same problem. i would say it is the switch? but i had a friend with the same problem on his car and his positive terminal to his battery was bad. let me know if you figure it out as i am curious also to fix this, i just haven't had time to tinker.

Mine is about the same, and I'm on my second ignition switch (did it with both). Design issue? Doesn't affect anything unless I'm turning the truck off, and even then it's not a big deal-the radio just turns off first. I won't worry about mine unless it gets so touchy it kicks off the accessories while I'm driving.

Default Ignition switch

I have the 2001 dodge dakota 4.7 ltr and have the same problem. I did go ahead and replace the ignition cylinder lock and This Was NOT the problem.
