Stopping by...

Haven't been here in awhile, due to the whole demoting thing lol.

Figure i would stop in and see if any of the old people done anything with the trucks.

Mine blew a head gasket and also floated my cly8 exhaust valve and crushed the spring.

Replaced everything, got .600lift Springs in there now for the new cam thats going in as soon as i pick up my heads. Polished up the pistons and cleaned it up a bit, runs like a champ again.

only thing i have done to my truck for the past few months is fix all the messed up ****. Leaking power steering pump, coolant leak, oil consumption due to bad valve seals, i took my engine harness out and re wrapped it and made it look like new.

Right now i have a set of GiSM Billet Fuel rails about to go on within the next week when my fittings arrive, got a set of yukon 4.56 gears waiting to go in, got a Comp Cam 218/224 .561/.569 113 going in, and a set of 2.02 Indy Heads. After that its lower the compression to 8.1 - 8.5/1 and grab a blower. Have SCT and Sean waiting to tune it.

Got to save about 600$ to get the heads, and then ill be golden for the final bolt ons. Its going to be sick.

I also finally got my side mirrors and door handles painted to match the truck. Here are some new photos of it..

Hey im actually thinking of expanding my club to the Houston/Austin area. Ill be looking for a President for that Region as i will not be able to show at the meets in that area with me being in DFW and all, but ill run the site and fixed/update things i Just need someone to put things together like meets, and a little moderation.

Im Thinking about HAADakotas.com but im not sure yet, or maybe LoneStarDakotas.com for the Houston/Austin Area Guys.

Is there any local clubs where your at?

chris1974 12-20-2009 12:10 AM

hmmm....how 'bout OutlawDakatos.com?? You know...texas outlaw? It just came to mind for some reason..lol

I'm not too sure about clubs in the area. Unfortunately, I spend most of my time at work, and on the rare occasion that I am off, I usually spend it playing with my RC cars, or babysitting. I've got three kids and the wifey usually works on the weekends, so....I don't get as much time as I would like to do stuff like that. Sounds like an awesome idea though, man.

user what headlights do you have?

rtdakota2001 12-20-2009 01:01 AM

user how did you do the rad. shroud delete? i have been looking for a way to clean up my engine bay for a while.

User 12-20-2009 01:04 AM

I took it off and threw it in the trash...

I dont use window washer fluid, and i just have a hose run down for my overflow by the radiator. I did have a bottle to catch it but i said screw it and tossed it to. lol.

Not hard to do... i think 2 bolts hold it on.

bpark8824 12-20-2009 08:13 AM

What font do you have for your Before/After?

It looks sweet, as does the truck!

Very nice looking, bud!

Yes i dont like the cold air intake style, takes up to much space and makes the bay look cluttered.. and the price is ridiculous for those plastic/chrome pieces of ****. The one you see in my before was 280$ brand new the AEM one, the mopar air hat that matches my valve covers was only 70$ brand new.

User 12-21-2009 01:53 PM

Btw your truck doesn't sound so bad with that header and exhaust on it.

batman13 12-21-2009 02:18 PM

thanks dosnt sound near as sweet as yours but its probly about as good as it'll get with this motor :d

varsis 12-21-2009 03:40 PM

Awesome news on the heads man. I wish I had money to do engine mods!

RoaminGnome 12-21-2009 04:51 PM

I was wondering where ya went lol

Looks sweet, lovin the matched mirrors and handles. Mines black so I kinda won there :)

Love the engine bay, looks sooo clean. Mines nasty, thatll be my first target when I start doing the little things for looks.

bpark8824 12-21-2009 07:14 PM

Yeah painting the mirrors and handles looks so much better, especially since yours is white. I'm still not loving the clear tails, but its just me probably. It looks like you've done the truck a lot of good since owning it.

Yeah only got to save about 500$ then im going to offer him 800 and hopefully he will take it.

Here is a pic of the heads.

I think he painted them black to preserve them for the time it takes me to get the money. They are ported to take the 2.02 intake valves and 1.62 exhuast (stock) which is fine, decked for better compression should be 10 to 1 instead of the stock 9.1 to 1 ill be running 1.7 rockers with a Comp Cam. Its going to be a beast

Yeah but that texture **** looks crappy.. I like mine smooth and glosy, even if i had a black truck i would have done the same thing.

Meh the clear tails is to go with the white theme if i had red in them... then it wouldn't match my headlights! Duh! :icon_teeth:
