i'm looking for a used cap for my 01 dakota QC. their hard to find. anyone know if there are any other vehicles caps that will fit? i've looked at the leer sites and can't find any measurements on the caps.

 

If the cap fits it might not match the contours of the body. I also have an '01 QC, over the last 2 months about 3 have popped up on CL within driving distance. Just got an ARE cap for $300. I will have it painted by Maaco when it warms up.

 

I bought my 01 QC 5.9 for $3750 and the guy threw in the cap for free =)

 

be sure to check the local salvage yards. most of them get caps with wrecked trucks but don't list them so you'd just have to grab a tape measure and go look. I recently found one at a yard and they said I could have it but it wouldn't fit my truck. it was on a crew and mine is just an extended cab

 

there are 3 bed sizes for this truck,
the standard 6.5 feet on reg and ext cabs,
the quad cab is a 5.5 bed,
its real easy to tell them apart
there is a long 7' bed, but its not only rare, but easy as hell to see the difference
