well the truck i bought 3 wks ago starting leaking from waterpump. luckily its still covered under the 30-day powertrain warranty. is there anything else i should have done while the waterpump is being done? it has 82000 miles on it.
Change the little hose on top of the water pump when you have it changed too if its a 3.9 or 5.9.
Depending on when it was last done, you can also change the upper and lower radiator hoses while you have the system drained, both the magnum and 4.7L.
If it is a magnum, Change the o-ring on the bypass tube.
Im gonna agree with varsis, tstat and a flush and you should be good. a GOOD mechanic will check the hoses as they do the work and replace as needed. Now with those being as rare as winning lotto tickets Id mention it when you drop it off
Yes,have the T-stat replaced and the cooling system flushed too.I have the v-6 in mine and it is a real pain to change the stat in mine so have it done with the pump.
