Default Engine Tick when Cold 3.9 V-6

Hello ! I have a 96 Dakota SLT with the Magnum 3.9 V-6 and it has started a loud tick when cold and as the engine warms up it just about goes away. The noise is not bottom end noise,so I would like to know if there are any issues with these symptons. The noise seems to be high up such as valve train. Has anyone had a similar experiance? Let me know!

Would a collapsed lifter get better with heat? How "heavy" is the tick?

The Tick sounds loud like a lifter that has to much lash ( clearance) and is less noisy at higher rpm when cold.
