Default maintenance question

so I'm due for an oil change pretty soon and well for background I bough the dak last april with 114k (now 122k) other than 2 oil changes I have no idea how long the other fluids have been in. or anything replaced or looked over for that matter. so my question is what should be looked over and what fluids changed or flushed ect.

thanks dudes

check the trans fluid for sure. i do 50k intervals, though some say thats overkill. i dont mind though.

coolant should be flushed every 2 years.

brake fluid is commonly overlooked. it does get dirty, and condensation does get in there.

make sure when you check the tranny fluid everything is at operating temp. Check it with the engine RUNNING in park, otherwise you will get an incorrect level. I drop the pan once a year on mine and change out the fluid and filters along with the rubber gasket around the pan. I could tell a difference in shifting when I do the service as well as a shorter lag time going into gear from, lets say park to drive. Good luck!

thanks^^. so i decided to do the oil myself, and i noticed that the cap and funnel of the engine oil is all creamy/white colored. dip stick is normal. a quick search online came up with possible coolant mixing with engine oil?

any ideas?

Never heard of that but coolant mixing with the oil would be a head gasket.

drive the truck up to temp, and promptly check the dipstick. if it looks like a milkshake, stop driving the truck!
coolant can and will destroy crank & rod bearings.

if not, its just moisture under the cap. clean it, change the oil, and you are good.
