99 DAKOTA 3.9 5 SPEED cranks but no spark
My vin # 1B7FL26X9XS127314 99 DAKOTA 3.9 5 SPEED cranks but no spark.
NO DTC codes show up
IT HAS THE BASE key with no transponder and no factory security system
I bought it with a bad overheated 3.9 with cracked cylinder walls & heads.
We installed a 3.9 from a 2000 model Ram van and cranks fine but we can't get spark from 2 tried coils.
The ASR has also been tried and if we jump supply fire through the coil output the engine will start .
I began to wonder if something strange and unknown to us may have occured whehn the other engine blew ; such as a thermo fuse. At this point we are lost PLEASE HELP & THANKS .

cranks but no spark 99 DAKOTA 3.9
99 DAKOTA cranks but no spark 3.9 5 SPEED
Sorry to say on this one seems no one had the answer unless the little white cat track looking fuse like item in the fuse box under the hood was their answer . Accoridng to manuals I scrolled thru online it's not the ASD relay. we changed the crank sensor twice and several other items , but printed off all answers found here and elesehwere and tried them all. But it's running now and new BOSCH IRIDIUM FUSIONS & autozone plug wires made a nice gas mileage & power increase , along with a cone cold air filter.
