99 dakota grinding?

Unhappy 99 dakota grinding?

i have a 99 dodge dakota, today after work it started grinding in the left front tire. it grinds about once every 6 or seven tire turns of the tire and its a grabbing grinding noise. doesnt really matter what speed i go or if its in 4 wheel drive or not any answers

wheel bearing. jack up the front end, grab onto the tire and try and move it. not spin it, like in and out up and down. it should have no movement.

thats what i initially thought but if its a wheel bearing isnt that a constant hum or grind my dakota doesnt it with grind and grab stop for a couple hundred yards and start again. i did grab the wheel when i had it jacked up and it did move quite a bit
