Default how difficult is it? (brake line problem)

how difficult is it to put in break lines on a 97 dodge dakota.

heres my situation:

i bought the truck in oct. 09
i drove across several states to see my girlfriend (and decided to live with her for awhile)

never had a problem with my truck when i bought it until i drove across 5 states. in the middle of mine the truck broke down, had to replace the coil.
then when i got it where i was heading it flooded out and i replaced the spark plugs and let it dry out, etc.
then the dimmer switch went, and just 3 days ago the fan (which apparently was cracked a long time, snapped and a fanblade shot around my engine, taking out the belt, the water pump, and the air filter box (thankfully i didnt lose the radiator hose and all that).

im not experienced when it comes to cars (my father in law is helping me with it, and teaching me but he doesnt know about the "newer" cars, and im the only one he knows with a dodge. but we've figured out how to fix the problems ive had so far.

but down to the point when we fixed the water pump i noticed the brake lines and there all rusted to the point where if i hit the brake suddenly, the line will probably snap.

i dont want to sell the truck, but i dont want to risk anyones lives by driving it with bad brakes.

so how easy is it to fix the brake lines in a 97 dodge? i heard the lines themselves are cheap but what does it involve if i try replacing them? any special tools? anything different from other trucks?

its generally pretty easy, if your sure you want to replace them if go to the auto store and buy the correct size lines you need, then take the old ones off and using the old lines as a template bend the new lines so that they are the same. auto stores sell benders you could buy to help you bend the lines but the lines are pretty flimsy so you may be able to bend them by hand but the angles wount be as accurate. after you do all that then just put it together... make sure you bleed the brakes after you open the lines so you have no air in the line

i was also just told there might be a different "box" or something in it that needs to be vacuumed out so theres no air inside.

what about that? is that in a dodge dakota?

if so what do i need?
