just purchased a used 2003 dodge dakota crew cab, and the key flob won't unlock the doors, it came with only one and it is not the battery in the flob, any suggestions? thanks and does the year have the chip in the key?

 

i have a 2003 dakota clubcab SLT and i Do NOT have a electronic key fob.. only reason i know is wife lost her dak keys had to get some new ones made.. and dealer made copies told me i was lucky mine didnt use the new ones he told me 05 and beyond...so unless someone has changed the door locks..maybe got a key broke in door..i know my dak is odd left locks the doors and right opens.. sorta odd for lefty lucy righty righty..

 

if ur key has the gray head on it then yes it is chipped, but no worries only about 40$ for a new one programmed as for ur key fob, I'd go to a dealer and see if they could reprogram it
