Talking 2000 dakota 2.5 head

i am new to dodge engine work
i was wondering if it will be hard to change out my head?
i bought a new one from A-1 parts depo it is on it way to me now.
i have a mechanic that wants to charge me 400 to do the work for me.
what is your advice?
i have done engine work before and couple of friends said they will help me as well.

$400 isnt a bad price, but if you've done engine work before you might as well do it yourself. good experience.

yeah, no doubt. Go get a haynes manual for your truck,=$20.00
buy some beer, lot's of beer, (this could be the expensive part depending on how long it takes to replace the head and how much you end up having to spend on bail) =$??.??
Call your buddies = usually free
get to work and sometime in the future you have some good times to sit back and reflect on with your friends = Priceless.

im not familiar with the engine, but if its a pushrod engine, then it'll be a cakewalk. if its an OHC, then it'll be a lil more involved.
