Default 20" rims on a Dakota Quad?!!

Hey, I'm a girl new to this site and newish to trucks. Owning at least, and need some help in upgrading my rims. Is a 20" rim doable on a 2000 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4, 6x4.5? I found some rims that require an adapter to a 6x5.5 so is that enough spacing or am I going to need low profile tires? Was also looking for a lift for it. Suspension or body and how high you think I need to go?

Thanks guys for any help

20's should fit and yes u'll need a lower profile tire....with a 3" body lift u can fit 33's under it no trouble

if you crank the torsion bars you can get between 1-2 inches of lift.

if u crank torsiona bars it won't extremely change ur ride quality but u will chew tires up, no doubt. Not bad for a sunday driver but if its a commuter, bad idea

So 20"s are good to go and a reccomendation of a body lift? But what size tires? I'm not really looking for a big beefy tire, just a regularish one. I do mostly street driving, it's my daily driver, with only the occasional trip to the Lock Lomond Mud Run competition to help haul the Fords out of the mud
