Default 98 dakota scrapping noise

I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota, it is the 3.9L 2wd, i added some weight to the box for traction in the winter, and now im getting a periodic scrapping type sound out of the front end, drivers side, sounds like im draggin something, and i can feel it in the floor, i went underneith and looked around, and tried to move a few things to see if they were loose, but no luck, any thougts?

does the sound change as you go faster?
do you notice it mostly while turning, driving straight, or both?

speed is not playing a factor, usually while going straight, i have not heard it yet while turning, it is not a constiant noise just periodically and last a few seconds, i have just taken the weight out of the box again to see if the noise still happens.

test run without the weight showed that the sound went away.
