Default in the cold weather ive noticed this sound i never heard before on my 03 dak..

after i shut my truck off i hear what sounds like a pinging.. from engine bay.. its like as if water was being dropped onto a skillet at a constant flow.. but then i dont notice it on semi warm days.. only cold.. someone told me it could be some item sticking but i sorta forgot what he told me .. what could i check to see wheres it coming from ..

thanks ,Schuey

That's normal. Many vehicles "tick" when you shut them off. I believe it's the cats cooling down. Nothing to be concerned about.

+1..it just shows that your cat is in good working order..

if your really concerned about it..leave the truck running..hop out..climb under neath and have someone shut the truck off..youll know if its the cat or not..cause when your within 6 inches of the cat..its plenty loud enough to let you know
