front shocks on 2003 quad cab dakota

Default front shocks on 2003 quad cab dakota

Got some clunking going on in the front end and pretty sure is the front strut shocks. if there anyway of replacing them without compressing the spring?

Put a Jack under the control arm when uve got the truck on a jackstand that's how we did it on my buddy's ram

are you sure its not balljoints?

jack the truck up, grab the tire at 6 and 12 and rock it. If theres play, its the BJs.

anyone tips on changing out the lower ball joints... rivited in .

Default Lower ball joint replacement

Changed out the lower ball joint and thanks for the info here is went surprising well. Rivits actually drilled out quiet easily.. pretty soft steel. Use a little wd-40 or something to keep bits cool and it will go nicely for you. I used 4" cut off wheel first and then ground the head off. Drilled a 11/32" then 1/4" then another just under 3/8".
