I'm getting ready to tune my Dak up and was wondering what type of spark plugs I should get for it? I put Bosch Platinum 4+'s in it about 30000 miles ago. Should I just pull them out and clean them up or drop New ones in? Thanks

 

check them if they still look good put them back in, i changed mine at 70k and im pretty sure they were the originals, and they were pretty crappy looking but still had a little bit of the electrode on them

 

Bosch Platinum are good but not the best. But some say they can last for 100,000 miles. I personally wouldn't go that long.

Autolites 3924 is the BEST choice to get. It is 1 step colder for more HP and MPG. Just ask by part number.

 

Yeh I was looking for those 3924 Autolite's on amazon.com and they said they didn't fit my 3.9...That made me wonder because in these forums they are very popular for all size magnum engines.. Are they not made for the Magnum but still work really good?

 

looks like the 3924s are for the 1st gen dakotas, the autolites for 2nd gen are the 5224s

I was just trying to get a idea of what to get..I'm gonna pull the Platinum 4+'s out soon and see what they look like, it still runs damn good.. They Practically give those Autolite plugs away, if theres any thing close to a problem with those Platinum 4+"s I'll easily spend the few dollars to get a fresh spark..

 

Autolite 3924 are not listed for any Dodge. But they are made by manufacture to be 1 step colder then stock ones. You have to ask by part number like I said in my first post. It will NOT be in the books. They are cheep too.

This is best plug for ANY and ALL Magnum engine. And I believe 4.7's and the newer V6 what ever the size is, this is the plug of choice too.

They did make a difference in my 5.9 Magnum when changing them from the Bosh Platinum +4's

I use Autolite 3923's in my truck. You can get them for $3.00 for 2 plugs in a pack at Walmart. They are one heat range colder and will help with pinging if you have any. My truck runs great on them. I have tried other plugs including NGK and 3924's but I always go back to the plain old copper core 3923. It has performed the best in my 3.9. I change plugs, my distributor cap and rotor button with Napa part #'s MO 26 and MO28 brass contact cap and rotor at every 20,000 miles, I change my plug wires out every 40,000 miles. I use the Belden Premium wire set from Napa, about $36.00 here.
