Default camshaft position sensor

Hi everyone Just had a truck delivered thaat someone started to put new motor in. So now im stuck following up on someone else s mistakes The truck is a 2003 3.9 4x4 motor is a rebuilt replacement Problem im having brought motor to tdc #1 put in dist and it does not line up with camshaft position sensor mark. Timing cover was put on by other guy so im not sure if the timing marks are correct but before i tear it apart im wondering if there could be another issue Thanks in advance

Just put the #1 cly on TDC ON compression stroke. Then bring the crank shaft to the 0 deg. mark or the TDC mark. Then loosen up the distributer and reposition until the rotor hits #1 plug wire.
