Default 2000 4.7 Camshaft sensor

After replacing head gaskets on my truck I now recieve a camshaft sensor code every time i try to start the truck. It has only started one time since being re assembled. I have replaced the camshaft sensor twice now, my question is when testing the wire and sensor I have a few problems. first when the ignition is on adn the sensor unpluged am I supposed to have voltage on wires 1 and three or s it supposed to on just the three wire. And second when the truck is being cranked over I am not getting the 5volt spikes comming out of the number one wire. actually I got no voltage on the # 1 wire one the sensor is plugged in.

Please help!
Thank you

the cam sensor should recieve 1 5v reference. then it should have a sensor ground that goes back to the pcm. then a signal wire going back to the pcm. also, i don't know what you are using to read the voltage spikes (signal) with. it it is a regular multimeter you are wasting your time. you can only see that signal if you have an automotive scope. unleww your meter is super fast which i doubt. start by checking the ground back to the pcm and then pcm grounds.
