What yr./engine size truck do you have?

I've got an 01 Dak QC/ 4.7L and the oil pressure needle moves all the time... Since I bought it new it stays at 1/2 at idle goes up to 3/4 when in motion and down to 1/4 when at stop lights. So I guess I really can't answer your specific question but that is what mine does.
