Default 02 Dakota 4x4 transmission

The truck just all of a sudden would not move in any gear at all. The truck is automatic 4 wheel drive with the 4.7. Then when i went to check the truck it would not start. I checked fuel pressure and it was fine. I took it to the dealership and they said it was the fuel pump module. Anyone have suggestions of what is really wrong? I'm pretty sure a fuel pump module will not keep the vehicle from going into gear then the truck stop running all together but still have good fuel pressure. So am i missing something?

Well what have you done to diagnose? Have you checked the shifter linkages to make sure they are actually shifting the transmission and not slipping? Have you checked the transmission fluid to make sure its full? Most important, have you ran the codes?

You said it has good fuel pressure at the rails? What was the pressure reading? Do you hear the pump click on when you turn the key to the "on" position when you first get in?
