Default flushing power steering fluid ?

on my '01 dakota, 3.9 with 46,000 miles, i want to service the power steering system, how would i go about flushing out the old fluid ?

what do you all recommend for replacement fluid ?

or is it just better to leave it all alone ?

it works fine but i thought a little maintenence couldn't hurt

if it works fine i wouldn't worry about it. but if you really want to you can replace it with synthetic atf. that way in the winter it will be less likely to grown on cold startups.
