Question 2003 Dodge Dakota

Hi Folks.
I'm seriously considering buying a 2003 Dodge Dakota 4x4 (144, 000km) with quad cab but I'm somewhat cautious after taking it to my mechanics. Mechanic's saying that the both lower ball joints need to be replaced as well as the shocks and pinion shaft seal for $1800.

Seller is asking for $7800.

I'm concerned that the ball joint and shock situation is going to be an ongoing problem.

Is $7800 still a reasonable price for a 2003 Dakota that needs that type of work?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Just check KBB.com and/or edmunds.com and go from there. the balljoint issue can be reduced with moog or at least grease able balljoints.
