Default Knocking when in park

Hey guys, I have a 2002 auto 2wd v6 3.9L Dakota. about 5 days ago i started to hear my engine knocking, listening to it, it sounds like its probably coming from the bottom of the motor. The engine only knocks though when I have it in park. As soon as I put it in reverse or drive, the knock goes away. I tried changing the oil and putting some lucas in just to see if it would help, and of course it didnt. Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like a crank bearing issue.

When you put it in Reverse or Drive, you're putting a load on the crank, which to me, sounds like it could be the thrust bearing on the crank.

Could also be a broken flex plate.

Check your flexplate.
