Question Air Intake Bonnet Needed

Hi all,

Ok here's my problem... I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota SLT Club Cab.
I am looking for a part. its called an "Air Intake Bonet" by dodge.
I would prefer not to pay the inflated price that the dealer wants for a new one, but... I am having problems locating an aftermarket one or one from a salvage yard.

so here's my question... does anyone know of a place that i can buy this part (after market) preferred.

thanks,

Robert.

if ur talking about the piece on the tb, don't bother its very restrictive.
most ppl get a cai but for $10 u could get a 3" hose or use plastic pipe.
this is a hose i got from pepboys, i don't have the v6 but it shouldn't b to different.

I don't think it has a MAF sensor, it's MAP instead. It's a sensor located on the throttle body.

some of the 4.7s had a maf, when u order a k&n setup if u have a maf u have to drill a hole in the tube/pipe, and i got mine used from a guy that had a maf

ok i was wrong i dont have a MAF i have a MAP... soo is that something worth replacing to try to improve mpg.. i took it out of air box.. and 1 side of it was dirty.. i bought some map cleaning spray and honestly it didnt clean it off should 1 side of the MAP be sorta brown instead of the normal blue ? LOL im guessing no.. but im curious if i just go get me some 3 in pvc pipe like the above pic and just cut a hole into it and somehow fasten it in ..

u going to put pvc pipe instead of the hose?
that works just the same. i'm actually making a cold air
intake right now w/ pvc pipe and a cone, i'll post pics.

im not sure about the sensor ur talking about but u could put a bung in the pipe
they do that on the k&N kits.
