Default Where can I get this emblem???

Hello all! I am new to the Forum. I purchased a 2000 base model Dodge Dakota last weekend with the 2.5 liter engine. The truck appears to be missing an emblem on each side located on the front fender close to the headlight area. On each side there are 2 neat holes there that appear to be factory holes. I called the dealer and they said on the base model for that year there was an emblem that simply said "Magnum Power", and the cost to replace was about $60 each. OUCH!

First question....is the info from the dealer correct?
Second question.....can I buy the emblems somewhere else for a reasonable price?

Thank you all very much!
Randy

first off welcome to the forum

you could check ebay? i know that the V8's and V6's had badges that use those 2 holes but i dont know about the 2.5 $60 is definitely pricey and i wouldn't pay that

hmmmm...

I am quite sure I have seen Dakotas without an emblem or holes...can't say for sure about a 2000 though...

Just out of curiosity, did you run a Carfax before buying the truck?

Good to hear about the CARFAX. I had a bad thought pop into my mind when I read the post and I wanted to ask before I proposed it as a possible reason for the holes

I just spent a little (well, maybe more than a little ) time trying to find one of the emblems of which you speak. I was not able to do so.

So, I would say your best hope is the local pick and pull.

Wink thanks!

Thanks dodgeramguy85! The link you provided is the FIRST time I have actually seen what belongs on the fender. Maybe I'll just hang an emblem on the fender that reads "Hemi".
