i have two 2001 dodge dakotas one is 4x4 and automatic and the outher is 2 wheel drive 5 spd i wanna build on the 4x4 but it dont run i want to swap the engin from the 5 speed and keep the four wheel drive i will take any and all tips and ideas what will work what wont

 

First what are the engines that are inside both of those trucks and the years? Different engines may require different transmission.

 

there both 2001 magnum v6 the 2wd is 5 spd and the 4x4 is automatic

 

Well you should make sure that its the same transmission.
