Default Dynomax muffler for '04 quad cab 3.7L

I am thinking about picking up a Dynomax super turbo for my '04 V-6 Quad Cab. The stock muffler is 30" long and round, has offset inlet and offset outlet.

I found a Dynomax muffler model #17788 that is 31" long and has the same osset inlet/outlets- looks almost identical to the stock muffler. My question is do you guys think it will bolt right up if I cut the exhaust pipes down an inch or so? Also do you think it will sound good?

I heard a clip of a 3.7 with a Super Turbo muffler and it sounded good, I do NOT like the sound of the V-6 with the Flowmasters....sound high pitched and sounds like crizzap. I just want it to be a little louder than stock and flow a little better.

thats why i sugested the FM 70 series. at idle it will sound stock, at WOT it will be noticible that u have an aftermarket exhaust. the shorter the muffler the louder it will be (FM 10 vs FM 70 series). i have a dynomax racebullet which i love but its a straight through no chamber exhaust.

Yeah I looked at the FM70 series, they want something ridiculous like $160 for a muffler. The Dynomax is half that price. Also I have heard a clip of the 70 series w/ duals on a V-6 and it still had that droning-type sound. I spend 80% of my time on the interstate and if it has that droning sound it will drive me NUTS.

I went from a turbo muffler (it had been rattling for the past 2 years) to a flowmaster 50 series recently and I am quite happy with the change. No more rattle (obviously) and it definitely sounds better. I took my time making my choice for the flowmaster 50 series and I am more than happy with it on my 3.7L.
