Default tire size

greetings,

I have a 2000 dakota extended v6 with 255/65 15 orgional tires that need to be replaced. can i step down to a 235 55 15 without causing any issues with the ECU? This is a daily driver not a tow rig or anything else, looking to pick up a few mpgs and everywhere online cannot give me a price on the 255s.

thanks

your speedo will be quite off. When it says 60, you'll actually only be doing 54. So to compensate, you will speed up to 65 or so, and you will get worse MPG.
