If you were happy with how it sounded before, why not just put some stock replacements in. They will be a bit pricey prolly, but you know they work, right?

The only problem with the thread here, all you are going to get is people's personal opnions for what THEY like...not what you want... You may not want thumping bass. you may want clarity... everyone's tastes are different, your best bet, is to stop by a car audio place...and look around, demo what they have. ask them questions... tell them what kind of truck you have, they'll give you a run down of what would sound good based on cab space, budget, your own tastes... be creative... get what YOU want, find something to sounds good to you, not to joe over there that likes to **** off the neighbors 2 blocks down...

yeah, anything like this is subjective.

For most people, myself included, a simple setup is all they desire. The HU i want is $150, new speakers I want are only $35/pair. Then i just need a harness adapter for the HU and im good to go. So say about $250.

I dont care for subs anymore. Too old for that stuff.

In my first Dak I had an all Pioneer system.

Flip out HU, 2 Pioneer 12's in a ported box (my back seat was no longer there lol), amp (don't remember the size), and new door speakers. It cost just about 1500.

It all depends on what you want, and where you get it. If you can befriend a person at the sound store you could get stuff alot cheaper.

Well, I liked the way the stock sounded, but...they blew up with nearly no bass. So yeah....

mine came with the premium Infinity system, the jackass that had the truck before me blew both front door speakers, so ive actually never heard my stock sound without 2 sputtering speakers.
